Writing for Masked Crusader
My goal is to teach you everything you need to know to make decent money, and I will be writing guides for MaskedCrusader.
I have worked in RMT for about ten years. When I started, I knew nothing. Now I know how to farm and bot safely, deliver safely, write descriptions that make account sales more profitable, avoid fraud, and a lot more. There is a lot to it, but it's also pretty simple, especially if you only want to learn one part of the business in order to get a quick start.
Within three months of starting out knowing nothing, I was already producing over $500 per month in disposable income, but what made that nice is that I was working part time, and I was a kid at the time. Eventually, I quit my regular job, made more, and just kept growing.
It takes a little start up capital to get going, but RMT is a world where you can buy a $200 game account, and sell it for $300 the next day. This is also a world where you can invest in gold, then dominate an in-game market by becoming known as the guy that buys low and sells high. A lot of gamers will give you a great markup if you give them a fair offer for instant in-game cash.
My first tip is to be aware of server transfers and gear price differences between PVP and PVE game servers. Also, always use technology to give you an edge regardless of what you are doing. Whether you are reselling, powerleveling, or flipping accounts, you will need to find tools that can help you out. The best guilds in the world don't raid without a lot of tech on their side. It simply makes you successful. Start out by searching in google to find 'UI addons'. Next, get familiar with all console commands that affect your UI. Many games will allow you to develop 'macro buttons' which can be used to automate the action of announcing to others what you have for trade.
Whenever a totally new server opens up for an MMO that is still in a phase of expansion, any high end account will be worth a LOT more on that server. Many buyers shop without ever thinking of doing a server transfer, being keen on what changes a publisher is doing is worth a lot of money. Read their change logs as well, sometimes a powerful item or resource which is easy to get will become much harder to obtain. If you read that announcement, get ready to buy up the market so you can sell much higher when the supply/demand balance grossly changes in your favor.
Trading gold in a game where the publisher as a system that monitors for RMT? Have your buyer pass you an item from an earlier expansion which used to be valuable, but is now just vendor trash. Publishers don't re-evaluate old items. It is the number one best thing you can do to make a gold trade go completely under the radar. Another tip: If there's trust, you can even use items that do have lots of value. When you're done, just trade the items back. Publishers tend to look for gold trade, not item trade.
Still paranoid about gold trade? Buy an expensive item which has a high and stable market price, then deliver that instead of gold. You might fudge your profit margin by a little bit, but your account will stay safe. Keeping business moving is sometimes much better than taking a risk.
These are just a few teaser tips to give you an idea of what kind of details to expect, and on what topics. A lot of ideas in RMT are imperfect, but knowing the full spectrum of how it's done will give you a lot of options to control your safety (and comfort) level while maximizing profit.
While I am writing, I want to hear from you just what you want to know. Send your questions by PM, and I will write articles to answer them.
