Re: Industry Firsts
WTTMMO was the first forum to employ automated verification of a telephone number to verify members prior to giving them access to post in the trade section. Absolute genius.
PlayerAuctions.com was the first 'trade platform' to employ the same technology. When the site was bought out and redone from the ground up, they actually consulted with one of the world's foremost experts on online payment security: a guy that worked with PayPal, Google Checkout, and finally set up a consulting business.
Surprising, not even ebay verifies phone numbers. The RMT industry can be VERY cutting edge (years ahead) when it comes to security and practical trade based innovations. (more on innovations later.)

Re: Industry Firsts
PlayerAuctions.com - First site to employ the use of LSOs (Flash cookies) or use device fingerprinting technology as a part of their layered security approach.
It wasn't until two years later that a forum ever used LSOs (mmobay.net, through an addon).
Both LSOs and device fingerprinting are already going the way of the dinosaur as all next versions of browsers will offer users very tight control over Flash and have pretty much everything set to 'no' by default.
