It's like calling a ROUND, a bullet. Or a MAGAZINE, a clip. Or an AR-15, a machine gun.

The manufacturers, along with industry professionals refer to it as a suppressor. As seen here, here, and here.

I'm just telling you what it's supposed to be called man, you can call it whatever you want.

Silencer is just another name for a suppressor. It's like calling a Sergeant First class, 'Sergeant'. Hiram Maxim the guy that CREATED them, marketed them as "Silencers" the nation firearms act also referrs to them as "silencers".

Suppressor may be a more accurate description but the original name for them was Silencer.

Clips and Magazines doesn't make much of a comparison because it's TWO different items. As are bullets and rounds same goes with people calling a M4 'Machinegun"

silencer is what you put on the gun, supressor being what the silencer does to the gun when fired.
