Default Discussion : Real I.D and RMT

Hey yall, just opening this topic to share opinions on the new features blizzard just added '' Real I.D '' http://us.battle.net/realid/

What I am curious to know is for those end user who purchase account and actively play the game, how do you feel about this service?

Are you actively using it? How do you feel about it?

For me I have not been actively playing the game for a while. I can see the system being very beneficial to those who would wish to develop a more stable social network with their fellow players.

I could see as using a bought account with a different name than yours could become an issues trough both for the buyer and the original owner as this could cause privacy conflict.

Thanks for reading this and hopefully contributing

i'm not using it simply because it gives arena players an edge on knowing what their competition is doing at all times. If you got a rival's bnet ID you'd be able to know exactly when they're dodging/sniping, everything.

You guys have it all wrong.

Your rivals can't e-stalk at you at all, I believe Both users have to accept each other before you can see what game their playing and what they're playing.

You also have the option of not using it, by either just not accepting any friends, or going to Battle.net going to parental controls and disabling it that way.

Also, Blizzard has stated this is just supposed to be for you and your closest friends IRL, not bob you met a week ago doing ICC.

I put a link in the original post with a link to the battle-net page.

Interesting concern Toon, people already use to spy on their competition previous to the real I.D using stuff such as using secondary account to log on their competition server. I can see now how it could become effortless to just check your friend list.

What about this friend of friend features that i've been hearing people complain about, how do you guys feel about that? That kinda break up the concept of just having your close friend no? Don't you think soon you will have the recommend friend page just like FB?

I will use it , I still play wc3 a LOT so this way I don't have to login to wc3 to talk to my friends.

I only have two friends on Real ID, and both of them are close and know that I trade/buy/sell accounts.
