SWTOR :: Initial Impressions
Well, after waiting an hour after the official launch of the game due to the "No Active Subscription" error, I finally got into the game last night.
The moment you enter the game and start creating your character, you start to see you have SO many more options than WoW. The races/classes are look as if time had actually been put into them.
As of this moment, I am a level 9 Bounty Hunter. I am looking to do end-game tanking, and they are by far the best tanks around (especially AoE-wise).
The leveling process from 1-9 thus far has been pretty daunting. There is A LOT of running around until you figure out that there are flight points!
The storyline is fantastic and being able to choose your light/dark side to the conversation is pretty nice. Adds a little something new to the mix.
Overall, I am impressed with the game itself. The customer service from Bioware is a whole other beast...
I would definitely recommend this game for people that are looking to take a break from WoW or just quit it all together.

I was a passionate WoW player once and thought that no other game could ever touch it. I have played lots of MMOs and am working in that business as a Community Manager as well, so I have some knowledge I guess.
The idea of getting the game was brought to me by friends. I wouldn't have bought it if my friends would not have told me that we would create a guild and play together so on and so forth...
When I finally got the game I was excited to play it and have to tell you that I still am. I am on lvl 44 now and still thrilled to play it every day. I know that people are complaining about the end game but think about how WoW started. It was the same. There was no arena, no big variance in pvp or pve endgame but Bioware shows that they are eager to keep on developing endgame content (Take the 1.1 update for instance). This game has so much potential and I also really like the fact that it takes place in a scene barely touched by other games before. The dialogues are a blessing since they are dubbed, I really love that. You don't need to read all the long stories anymore, you can relax and listen.
I know this post might not convince you but I really think you should give it a shot and let the game have an impression on you playing it
