Here is an under rated and misunderstood process for getting massive amounts of 100% SAFE, LEGIT wow gold. Works for ANY level, whooo! You convert your cash into gold (almost directly).

1. Visit ebay or google and search for wow "loot codes" from 'World of Warcraft The Trading Card Game'. These codes are good for in game loot, some of which is worth a lot of money, like $300.
2. Buy the code, get the in game item, and sell it for gold. You can easily get about $300 worth of gold without having to use a gold farmer or gold selling service. So it's safe.

This might be kind of obvious to some people, but others still don't get it, as we can see in the news:

You would think that anyone writing for major gaming websites would kinda "get" this kind of stuff, but they don't, and that means that average users are also missing the real story.

Obviously, demand for pets is low. Demand for stuff that actually makes you kick ass is quite high. So focus on loot codes. The value and demand tends to go UP, not DOWN... and there's much LESS selling competition. Done.

In my opinion that article didn't say much of anything :/ He/She was focused on supply and demand. It's also debatable if the author "gets it" or doesn't. I believe you will be hard pressed if you expect a major gaming news outlets to detail the finer points of RMT Unfortunately RMT still carries a stigma despite the fact that 95% of the games these days are purely based on RMT.

I get the feeling that the author was focusing more on playing patsy, although it's interesting they mentioned RMT as the angle of the story. Any news/fan site which has a feed of content from a publisher is expected to rewrite the story, and in doing so, glorify the publisher's latest decisions and developments (and of course, sensationalize it as the same time).
